On Graded Nearness of Sets

چکیده
In this article we present some mappings which can be used to measure the degree of inclusion of a set in a set and which characterize the binary relation of being-near-to, defined on finite sets of objects in line with Peters, Skowron, and Stepaniuk [12]. By means of these mappings, called inclusion functions in general, we extend the notion of nearness to the graded case where one can measure the degree to which one set is near to another one. We also give a number of basic properties of the notions introduced.

Nearness of Visual Objects. Application of Rough Sets in Proximity Spaces
The problem considered in this paper is how to describe and compare visual objects. The solution to this problem stems from a consideration of nearness relations in two different forms of Efremovic̆ proximity spaces. In this paper, the visual objects are picture elements in digital images. In particular, this problem is solved in terms of the application of rough sets in proximity spaces. The ba...
متن کاملNear semigroups on nearness approximation spaces
In this paper, our approach is to study properties of approximations on nearness approximation spaces. Afterwards, our aim is to define near semigroups and near ideals on near approximation spaces. We introduce some properties of these near structures. The nearness of sets and, in particular, the nearness of algebraic structures on nearness approximation spaces fits within the milieu of fuzzy s...
متن کاملNear Sets: An Introduction
This article gives a brief overview of near sets. The proposed approach in introducing near sets is to consider a set theory-based form of nearness (proximity) called discrete proximity. There are two basic types of near sets, namely, spatially near sets and descriptively near sets. By endowing a nonempty set with some form of a nearness (proximity) relation, we obtain a structured set called a...
متن کاملNearness of Objects: Extension of Approximation Space Model
The problem considered in this paper is the extension of an approximation space to include a nearness relation. Approximation spaces were introduced by Zdzisław Pawlak during the early 1980s as frameworks for classifying objects by means of attributes. Pawlak introduced approximations as a means of approximating one set of objects with another set of objects using an indiscernibility relation t...
